Well, we are both lifting from the same thing. It's a reference to the scientific research done years ago (when I first made this shirt) in which a group of researchers were able to create a human ear on the back of a mouse using some crazy bio-scaffolding method.
A lot of people at the time thought this was a crime against nature, I thought it was cool. So I commemorated it in a shirt.
Other folks, like the band linked, must have also thought it was cool/twisted/whatever. But yeah, no one "owns" the idea behind a scientific discovery in this context.
